W czwartek, 8 lutego 2018 roku, Środowiskowy Dom Samopomocy świętował swój jubileusz. Właśnie mija 10 lat, od dnia kiedy pierwsi podopieczni ŚDS-u zaczęli terapię w Zagórzanach. Na uroczystość, którą zorganizowano w pobliskiej restauracji ChataGieda przybyli podopieczni oraz pracownicy zagórzańskiego ośrodka, władze samorządowe naszej gminy m.in.: wójt gminy Gdów Pan Zbigniew Wojas, radni i sołtysi, dyrektorzy i kierownicy instytucji gminnych, przedstawiciele Starostwa w Wieliczce i w Bochni, proboszczowie z Gdowa oraz z Niegowici, delegacje zaprzyjaźnionych ŚDS-ów, Panie z KGW z Pierzchowa, Klęczany i Zagórzan, sponsorzy, oraz rodziny podopiecznych i osoby zaprzyjaźnione z ośrodkiem.

Obchody 10-lecia rozpoczęły się mszą świętą, po której wszyscy zebrani udali się na dalsze obchody do Chaty Gieda. Przed restauracją na podopiecznych oraz personel tej placówki czekała niemała niespodzianka − nowy samochód do przewozu osób niepełnosprawnych. Zaskoczenie i radość były ogromne. Wzruszenie na długo ścisnęło gardła obdarowanych.

Pani kierownik Małgorzata Kordula przybliżyła zebranym gościom okoliczności powstania ośrodka w Zagórzanach i opowiedziała jak zmieniał się on na przestrzeni lat dzięki pozyskiwanym środkom finansowym.

Jubileusz stał się okazją do podziękowań dla osób, które  wspierają placówkę swoją życzliwością, radą, pomocą, ale także materialnie. Wśród osób obdarowanych statuetką był m.in. wójt gminy Zbigniew Wojas, co było okazją do podkreślenia jego ogromnej roli w założeniu i funkcjonowaniu ośrodka. Gospodarz naszej gminy dziękował Pani Małgorzacie Korduli i wszystkim pracownikom  za 10 lat wspaniałej pracy na rzecz osób niepełnosprawnych.

Specjalne podziękowania przekazano Księdzu Seniorowi, Stanisławowi Jarguzowi, który od lat w każdy piątek przyjeżdża do Zagórzan jako wolontariusz, aby pobyć, porozmawiać i pomodlić się wspólnie z podopiecznymi. Na zakończenie części oficjalnej przed zgromadzoną publicznością zaprezentowała się grupa podopiecznych przygotowana przez Pana Marcina Wójcika wykonując hymn ośrodka w Zagórzanach oraz piosenki ludowe.

Środowiskowy Dom Samopomocy w Zagórzanach to miejsce pełne ciepła, życzliwości i pozytywnej energii. To miejsce, gdzie osoby niepełnosprawne uczą się, rehabilitują, a przede wszystkim wspólnie spędzają czas w atmosferze rodzinnego domu.
